Job Description

The junior draughtsperson under the direct supervision of a senior draughtsperson, produces drawings for specialized equipment and system projects in the mining and resources industry. The junior draughtsperson assists in ensuring that drawing deliverables are done accurately, correctly and on time according to company standards and procedures. This is a permanent position, reporting to the Drawing Office Manager.

Tâches

  • Edit and correct detail drawings and models.
  • Assist engineers with material take-offs and the development of bills of quantities, equipment lists and cost estimates.
  • Travel to sites, when required, to measure up and detail equipment and systems.

  • Application of drawing skills to perform basic engineering and drawing tasks.

Development

  • On-the-job training will be provided in specialist drawing tasks.
  • Continuous learning and professional development will be required to remain current on current practices, standards and technology.
  • Once familiar and experienced with the technical aspects, the candidate will be required to take on increasing responsibility for project work.

Qualifications et compétences

  • Formal draughting training to a National Diploma or equivalent level.
  • Training and experience in 2D and 3D.
  • Computer literacy with basic skills in MS Excel and Word, and proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor).
  • Fundamental understanding of fabrication and tooling processes.
  • A valid passport and driver’s licence as well as willing and able to travel.
  • Pas de casier judiciaire (en raison des exigences du client, des déplacements et du site).
